Chapter Five

Hollie stepped out of the tub as Noah held open a large white towel for her. When he wrapped her in the soft cotton, she sighed happily, trying to recall a time she’d ever been so coddled or cared for.

After all, she was smack-dab in the middle of eight kids. She and her twin brother were siblings four and five. As such, by the time they’d come along, her parents already had their hands full.

While she’d always been loved, she had learned at a very young age to fend for herself when it came to taking what she wanted. She had seven huge, hungry, boisterous brothers who, though overprotective when it came to strangers, had no compunction stealing her food, her toys and her spot on the couch when she stood up to go to the bathroom.

She couldn’t remember ever being spoiled or taken care of like Noah was doing right now. A girl could get used to this.

Hollie squealed in surprise when Noah lifted her into his arms and carried her to the huge harem bed. He placed her on the mattress as if she were made of precious porcelain.

“Noah,” she said, her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. “Kiss me.”

His lips were on hers before she finished the request. The kiss was hard and hungry, almost brutal in its intensity, a direct contrast to the gentleness he’d just shown her.

Tonight was increasingly eye-opening for her as more and more layers of Noah were revealed. For months, she’d been witness to his affable, good-natured, easygoing persona. She’d also seen his competitive side, the way he never held back, cut corners, or lost his shit in the kitchen. He’d come to the game to win and she’d never seem him waver in his conviction that he could take home the prize. She recognized that part of him best because she shared a similar play-to-win nature. She respected that side of him, even as she dreaded coming face-to-face with it tomorrow.

What she hadn’t seen before tonight was this sex-on-a-stick dominant, possessive, demanding, amazing man. The one who had her wanting him to do all sorts of dirty things to her. She had expected him to be a gentle, easy lover.

When he pulled away, Noah, her friend, had vanished again. The sheik was back. And ready to stake a serious claim.

Her attempts at resisting, at fighting him as part of the fantasy, had vanished as well.

“Are you forgetting something, pet?”

She licked her lips, feigning nervousness. What she really felt was a throbbing need to be fucked. Hard.

So yeah. She was finding it hard to remember her name, let alone whatever it was Noah was referring to.

He chuckled darkly. “Let me remind you.”

Before she could puzzle out his actions, Noah was sitting on the edge of the bed and she was sprawled out facedown over his lap.

“Oh, hell no,” she cried out as she attempted to rise.

Noah halted her escape with one hard slap on her ass. “Say your safe word or hold still.
